Dorrance Scholarship Programme

The Dorrance Family established the Dorrance Scholarship Programme with the aim of offering financial and academic assistance to eligible first-generation college students in Arizona. Each year, the programme grants up to 60 scholarships to incoming first-year students who will be attending one of Arizona’s three public universities: Arizona State University (Tempe), Northern Arizona University (Flagstaff), and University of Arizona (Tucson). Scholarships at the University Of Arizona are renewable based on academic accomplishments and active involvement in programme activities.

  • First-generation college student (neither parent, stepparent, or legal guardian holds a four-year degree).

  • Demonstrated financial need through completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
  • Commitment to reside on campus during freshman and sophomore years.
  • Successful completion of the Dorrance Summer Bridge Program at the University.

Arizona Flinn Scholarships

This is one of the University of Arizona scholarships which presents a highly competitive and merit-based scholarship opportunity for exceptional Arizona resident undergraduate students. These students, upon high school graduation, have the chance to enrol at any of the three state universities. Flinn Semi-Finalists and Designated Scholars who opt to attend an Arizona university are granted a competitive award package as described below.

Flinn Semi-Finalists

  • Flinn Semi-Finalists qualify for the Flinn Semi-Finalist Tuition Scholarship amounting to $15,000 per year.
  • This scholarship is renewable for a total of 4 years (8 semesters) as long as the student maintains consecutive enrollment.
  • It cannot be combined with the Wildcat Tuition Award, National Scholar Tuition Award, or the National Merit Semi-Finalist Tuition Award.
  • The student will receive the scholarship with the highest value among the eligible awards.
  • If a Flinn Semi-Finalist attains the status of a Designated Flinn Scholar, they can retain the Flinn Semi-Finalist award.

Flinn Designated Scholars

  • Flinn Designated Scholars can retain the Flinn Semi-Finalist Tuition Scholarship of $15,000 per year or the higher-valued Wildcat Tuition Award, National Scholar Tuition Award, or National Merit Semi-Finalist Tuition Award.
  • The retention of the scholarship is contingent upon students maintaining their status as Designated Scholars with the Flinn Foundation or until they finish their undergraduate degree.
  • In addition, Designated Scholars receive annual funding from the Flinn Foundation amounting to $16,500.
  • To maintain eligibility for renewal, students must complete 12 units per semester and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.20.

Total Funding Per Year: $31,500

Arizona Business and Professional Women’s Foundation Scholarships 

The University of Arizona scholarships are available to women in Arizona who are 25 or older. They must be new or returning students at an Arizona community college or trade school. Applications are available on the ABPW Foundation website or in the financial aid office of the student’s prospective school.

Amount: $1,500

Arizona Leveraging Educational Assistance Partnership

The scholarship is open to Arizona residents who can showcase substantial financial need and qualify for the Federal Pell Grant. Eligible students must be enrolled at least part-time in an Arizona college or university. To apply, they can submit their applications through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

Amount: Up to $2,500

Arizona CPA Foundation High School Scholarship

To be eligible, a high school senior should plan to enrol full-time at an Arizona college or university in the fall after graduation and choose ‘accounting’ as their major. ASTA Arizona Chapter Professional Development Scholarship
