7. University of Waterloo

The University of Waterloo rose seven places in this year’s world ranking but stayed seventh in Canada. In the world rankings in 2021, the University of Waterloo ranks joint 166th, doing well in the employer credibility metric, where it ranks 85th internationally. 2. McGill University

McGill University, based in Montreal, remains in second position in Canada this year, climbing four positions to joint 31st in the rankings. As well as Canada’s new Prime minister, Justin Trudeau, McGill University counts 12 Nobel laureates and 145 Rhodes Scholars among its alumni.

The University of Toronto is once again the top university in Canada this year, jointly ranked 25th worldwide. In this year’s rankings, the university rose four places and won high scores across most of the indicators, particularly academic reputation, where it ranks 15th worldwide. It is always best and prudent to apply to at least three universities, even if they are in different locations abroad, even if you have set a specific target that you want to be a student at a certain university.
