The Arctic University of Norway (UiT)

The Arctic University of Norway (UiT) is the world’s northernmost educational institution, located in Troms. This free university in Norway is the country’s sixth-largest, with over 14,000 students, 11% of whom are foreigners.

Students (excluding those on exchange status) only have to pay a minimal semestral fee of NOK 625 ($73) at tuition-free UiT. This includes procedures such as registration, examinations, student cards, counselling, and membership in student organisations. 

The Humboldt University Of Berlin (HU Berlin)

The Humboldt University of Berlin (HU Berlin) is a non-profit, public research university in Berlin, Germany which makes it one of the tuition free universities for international students on our list. The University of Berlin was founded in 1810, largely to the endeavors of its founders Wilhelm von Humboldt, Johann Gottlieb Fichte, and Friedrich Schleiermacher.

HU Berlin, formerly known as Friedrich Wilhelm University, is ranked as Germany’s sixth-best university. Many of its programmes are internationally ranked, with the Arts & Humanities programmes ranking 20th and the Law programme ranking 25th.

HU Berlin, like other German free institutions, only charges a semester fee of 300 Euros. This includes a seasonal transportation pass as well as certain student organisation expenses.
