The GRE is a computer-based, structured, multiple-choice exam that is often required globally for admission to graduate programs and graduate business programs (MBA). It is tough to get a perfect score in GRE but not impossible. Let’s see how.

The GRE is created and governed by the ETS test maker to provide common measurements to graduate and business schools to compare applicants’ credentials and preparedness for graduate-level academic work. To test your preparation for graduate academic research rigors, graduate school and business school admissions committees look at your GRE ranking, along with your academic record and supporting materials.

Before we get a perfect score in GRE, let us first know what GRE is.

What is There on the GRE?

The GRE tests your command of fundamental analysis of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data, as well as vocabulary at the college level. More specifically, the ability to interpret and assess written content, think objectively, and solve issues is assessed.

Sections of GRE

On the GRE, you will earn three scores:

Writing Scientific

Reasoning orally

Quantitative argument

The following parts produce these scores:

Analytical Writing Evaluation

Verbal Reasoning

Quantitative Reasoning

Moreover, you are going to see one of the following sections:

Unscored (may be either Verbal or Quantitative Reasoning)

Analysis (used for purposes of ETS analysis)

The parts of Quantitative Reasoning and Verbal Reasoning are each scored on a 130 to 170 scale. Verbal Reasoning’s mean score is 151, and Quantitative Reasoning’s mean score is 153.

When to Take the GRE Test?

Since graduate programs have a broad range of application deadlines, you may want to review your programs of interest in advance and ensure that your GRE score for your earliest deadline can be recorded in time. Your GRE score is legitimate for five years. To get a max score in GRE, you need to give yourself time and prepare yourself both mentally and physically.

GRE Set of Ratings: How To Get A Max Score In GRE?

Per segment, GRE scores range from 130 to 170. The max score in GRE is 340 (range from 260-340 for combined scores). When considering “healthy” ratings, another significant fact is that the average GRE score is around 305, or 150 in Verbal, and about 154 in Quant. But for various graduate schools and even various programs at the same school, the GRE examination score range varies widely. Many factors will influence all in all, a good GRE score range for you.

It will take some time and analysis to decide what a good score is for you. But if you can define your goal score early in your GRE training, since you can concentrate your study plan on the aspects of the most challenging test for you, you would be more likely to get a perfect score in GRE. It is worth it!

What is the (Quant, Verbal, Combined) GRE Score Range?

The range of the GRE score runs from 260 to 340. The following table displays the Verbal, Quantitative, and Cumulative scores:

Minimum

Maximum

Verbal

130

170

Quantitative

130

170

Combined

260

340

Contextualizing your scores can undoubtedly be confusing, mainly because comparing verbal scores to quantum scores can feel like comparing apples to oranges. So let’s take a look at the sectional results and break them down a little more.

In-Section Ratings in GRE

There are 170 Perfect GRE scores in each segment, 340 combined.

Bear in mind that your scores in one segment could be weighted even more strongly in admissions, depending on your program. Potential English Lit MAs do not have to think as much as potential Engineering PhDs about Quant. In both parts, however, scoring high is a definite plus.

GRE Percentiles- A Summary

In short, the percentage of test-takers who scored lower than you is specified by a percentile. For instance, if you scored in the 75th percentile, it means you scored better than 75 out of every 100 GRE test takers.

In Quant, you can’t score higher than the 96th percentile: only 4 percent of students taking the test get a perfect score in this segment.

For Verbal, where only 1 percent of students get a perfect score (so guess which portion most test-takers consider harder?), the same thing is not valid.

In Verbal and 167 + in Quant, the top 10 percent of test-takers scored 162 +

In Verbal and 141 in Quant, the bottom 10 percent of test-takers scored below 139.

Many individuals will consider performing inside the top 10 percent of all test-takers very well in terms of percentiles!

But, a perfect score in GRE at the end of the day is the one that helps you get through your dream program. And that can be pretty high for the top programs in various fields.

The Graduate Record Review, or GRE, is an essential phase in the graduate school or business school application process.
